British Flowers Week

This week is British Flowers Week (16th-22nd June 2025) this is a week to champion all that is wonderful about British grown flowers and all the brilliant growers around the country that are helping the industry become more sustainable by making homegrown blooms more accessible to florists, so that less is imported. Not only does this help with the carbon footprint of flowers and the industry as a whole, its helping to get back to true seasonality, only using flowers that are meant to be in season, when they are in season - Tulips in Spring, Peonies in early summer, Dahlias from August etc,

To celebrate British Flowers Week, Studio Poppy will be hiding posies of British flowers around our town of Leigh-on-Sea - #finderskeepers - if you find a bunch, they are for you to take home to enjoy -or pass onto someone to brighten their day, no catch. We hope that these flowers help highlight the beauty of flowers grown in the UK.

If you find a bunch, don't forget to take a photo and tag us using the hashtag #Finderskeepers so we can see, and keep a track of which bunches have been found. The flowers will be simply wrapped in brown paper, so when you get them home, snip the ends and put them in water asap, a big drink will help your blooms last for longer.

Hope you all have a great week.
